European map of groundwater resources
Hydrogeologists from European geological surveys currently meet at the Hungarian Geological Survey (MBFSZ) and museum in Budapest to develop a common European map of groundwater resources in the RESOURCE project of the GeoERA program
International Geoethics Day
Today is the International Geoethics Day.
You can read more about this important initiative on the website: http://www.geoethics.org and in a special issue of Annals of Geophysics: http://www.geoethics.org/geoethics-ag2017
Here you can also read a paper: https://www.annalsofgeophysics.eu/index.php/annals/article/download/7500/6869 – how geoethics are important concepts of the GeoERA program on sustainable use of subsurface resources
GeoERA Groundwater
Welcome to my GeoERA Groundwater blog – please visit the GeoERA website to learn more about the four themes geoenergy, groundwater, raw materials and the common GeoERA Information platform EGDI as well as the 15 projects of GeoERA.
I’m Klaus Hinsby, a senior research hydrogeologist at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), GEUS website, and the theme coordinator of GeoERA Groundwater – GeoERA Groundwater.
I’m currently the chairman of the Water Resources Expert Group of the EuroGeoSurveys, EGS website, and the Danish chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists, IAH. In this blog I will frequently post news on the four GeoERA groundwater projects: HOVER ; RESOURCE ; TACTIC ; VOGERA and relevant information related to the objectives of the GeoERA groundwater projects – e.g. the protection of the quantity and quality of groundwater resources and climate change impacts on water resources, ecosystems and the built environment.
